Dear Dr. Maggie
Thank you SO much for all your healing, patience and kindness with George. You have helped him so much and I really appreciate it! George does too⊠even if he seems ungrateful for nowđ
A few weeks ago, George was really down, depressed and not his normal self at all. He looked drugged and confused with cloudy eyes, his second eyelid was enlarged in his left eye, he was stiff and groaning in pain like an old man. He seemed to be drinking a lot of water and usually coughed after drinking. George was exhausted and was not barking or showing any enthusiasm for life. His tail was permanently tucked between his legs and he was still eating but not very excitedly. We brought him into the vet and a variety of tests were done to determine what was wrong. He had a full physical examination and had blood tests, urine and stool tests, an x-ray and a sonar but nothing specific could be seen.
His tests were all clear but he presented with a very sore neck and he has spondylosis on his lower spine. He was also found to have a small growth on his spleen⊠but, the vet said that it wasnât of concern. George was given pain medications and muscle relaxants.
They improved his condition by about five percent but the minimal effect lasted for about a day before he was right back to where he started. We went back to the vet and he was given even more medication.
Again, there was a tiny improvement but it didnât last. I was at a loss and couldnât bear to see my poor animal suffering so much.
Thankfully, on the last visit you were our vet! You suggested acupuncture for him and I was so excited that there was at least some hope for him and whatever was going on with him.
After the second session he was already much happier and seemed more relaxed. We got home and he was wagging his tail, walking with his tail untucked from between his backlegs, bouncing along as he walked and he started barking at our gardener again. We decided to stop all the medication because it didnât seem to be working for him anyway.
His eyes are now clear, he doesnât seem to be confused and drugged, his second eyelid has returned to normal, his neck doesnât seem to be sore, he eats with enthusiasm and he is so much happier. He has far more energy and seems to be engaged with life again.
Thank you so much for everything that youâve done for him. I have no doubt that George will continue to improve in leaps and bounds under your care! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You are amazing and have such a precious gift which you are so willingly sharing!
All our love,
Dalena and George
